Abrasion Testing

Abrasion Testing

In many rubber products applications the abrasion resistance is a critical property to understand how well the rubber will hold up. Rubber Mexico produces many products where this is a key characteristic to the rubber parts that we produce including in bushing and matting applications.

Rubber Mexico has in house testing capabilities to these specifications to ensure our rubber compounds meet customer requirements: ASTM D3389, ASTM D3884、ASTM D1175、ASTM D1044、ASTM D4060、TAPPIT476、ISO 9352、ISO 5470-1、JIS K7204、JIS A1453、JIS K6902、JIS L1096、JIS K6964、DIN 52347、DIN 53109、DIN 53754、DIN 53799.

The standard way that we test the abrasion resistance of our rubber materials is by placing a cured sample onto a grinding wheel with a controlled amount of load, number of cycles and using a specific grinding wheel for the test. The specimen is weighed before and after the test and the difference in weight provides an indication of the abrasion resistance of that material. There are many ways to increase the abrasion resistance of rubber compounds, and Rubber Mexico has the experience to ensure that the abrasion resistance is maximized or meet customer requirements.

You can count on Rubber Mexico for all of your rubber products that require excellent abrasion resistance from bushings to mats we do it all!
